The Web Designer/Developer is part of a team supporting the university's online marketing, communications, and branding efforts at liu.edu. The role involves creating, updating, and publishing web pages in coordination with LIU faculty and staff, ensuring best practices and timely content delivery to reach targeted audiences.
- Perform website maintenance and analytics, including site architecture administration and content updates using Sitecore CMS, in accordance with university policies.
- Review and approve all content revisions with designated staff/faculty prior to publication.
- Assist with social media campaign design, development, and deployment.
- Update the LIU online calendar in coordination with faculty and staff.
- Create and maintain e-newsletters for various departments and programs.
- Serve as a backup member of the LIU emergency response team by providing online updates during campus closures and emergencies.
- Assist in the production of annual academic bulletins, including organization and content editing, with review and approval prior to publication.
- Provide remote SiteCore training to faculty and staff and offer guidance for CMS updates.
- Assist with multimedia integration into regional campus websites using Brightcove, including designing custom video players and managing multimedia assets.
Education Requirements:
B.A. or B.S. degree with at least two years of experience in website content management (preferably with Sitecore CMS), including UI development and navigation system creation for standards-compliant websites.
Skills and Experience:
Proficiency in web development, CMS management, multimedia integration, and social media campaigns.
Working Conditions:
This position is offsite in a freelance capacity; evening and weekend hours may be required. Must have a laptop connected to the Internet with LIU VPN software.
