Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. Responsibilities
- \n
- Conduct ship checks on SSN 688/688I Class, SEAWOLF Class, VIRGINIA Class and OHIO Class (SSBN/SSGN) Class submarines. \n
- Conduct research of submarine construction drawings using the Advanced Technical Information Support (ATIS) System. \n
- Create 3D solid models to optimize mechanical designs \n
- Develop 2D Installation & Arrangement drawings: \n
- In accordance with Military Specifications. \n
- Utilize Standard Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) practice as defined by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME Y14.5). \n
- Develop Lists of Material (LOM). \n
- Interpret Government Furnished Information (GFI) to meet design requirements. \n
- Supervise/aid/mentor Designer/Drafter I & II coworkers. \n
Qualifications
- \n
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance. \n
- U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance \n
- High School Diploma or GED and Technical School CAD Certificate or A.S. / B.S. Degree in Drafting / CAD Design or Engineering discipline \n
- Physically capable to conduct ship checks on United States Nuclear Submarines:
- \n
- Be comfortable in relatively confined spaces \n
- Able to climb vertical ladders (20' - 25') within the submarine \n
\n - Five (5) to Six (6) years business experience in:
- \n
- Creating 2D drawings using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drafting software application \n
- Autodesk AutoCAD® desired but not required \n
- Creating 3D drawings using solid modeling design software \n
\n - Autodesk Inventor® desired but not required: \n
- SOLIDWORKS® experience acceptable \n
- Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint software applications \n
- Adobe PDF tools \n
- Communication with customers \n
- Mentorship to junior level Drafter/Designers \n
