Phoenix Systems is growing, and we are seeking an experienced Audio/Video installation technician with Control4 certification(s) to join our team. Anticipated start date: September 15, 2025.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform service, installation, and activation of security systems, surround sound systems, system components, speakers, TV hangs, remote controls, shades and screens, advanced lighting controls, and systems requiring Control4 automation and programming.
  • Communicate with customers to review work orders, answer questions professionally, and educate them on system functions and operation.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of security system operations, functions, and wiring requirements.
  • Understand security systems Phoenix Systems installs and services (NX, SimonXTi, 2Gig, DSC, Qolsys, etc.).
  • Handle after-hours emergency service calls as assigned on a rotation basis.
  • Create and edit Control4 IR Drivers.
  • Install and program shades and screens.
  • Possess tools and experience needed to terminate multimode fiber ends.
  • Calibrate advanced projectors and receivers for optimal video and sound quality.
  • Work independently to resolve technical issues.
  • Perform duties of Trim Tech II/III and A/V Security Technician II as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with security and/or Audio Video installations.
  • Active Control4 Associate Installer & Automation Programmer certifications through SnapAV.
  • Active Control4 PCNA Certification through SnapAV.
  • Centralized Lighting Certification through SnapAV.
  • Lutron Lighting Certification.
  • Knowledge of cable types and technologies, with the ability to select appropriate types for installation scenarios.
  • Ability to assess system design and functionality when adding components.
  • Knowledge of networking setup for routers, switches, DVRs, network components, WAPs, etc.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work cleanly and unobtrusively.
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments within standard practices.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain basic tools for the job.
  • Must pass background check and drug screening.
  • Clear MVR required.
  • Technical or vocational schooling is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, talk, and hear.
  • Frequent use of step and extension ladders.
  • Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasional lifting up to 100 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Active construction sites.
  • Exposure to temperature and humidity changes, dust.
  • Moderate noise levels.
