The Media Studio Technology Consultant will help oversee and provide technical assistance for the A&S Media Studio. Primary duties include:

  • Maintain and check equipment in and out

  • Answer questions about software and hardware related to media production software ( e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud, iMovie, etc.)

  • Troubleshoot technical issues with media equipment and software

  • Answer user questions and provide support

  • Respond to email inquiries

  • Provide trainings on various topics related to the Media Studio and media production

Additional duties as assigned may include:

  • Creation of video, audio, digital, or print media

  • Creation and maintenance of support documentation and signage for the Media Studio

  • Assisting with the exploration of other instructional technologies (VR, AI, animation, etc.)

This is a 5-10 hour per week job for a highly motivated and skilled undergraduate or graduate student who wishes to learn more about media
production and/or instructional technology. Relevant software and technical skills are helpful, but a willingness to learn, help, and work in a
rigorous media production environment are more important.

Compensation rate: $15.00 per hour.

Note: Graduate student hires compensation rate is $21 per hour with commensurate additional responsibilities.

Anticipated Assignment Dates: August 26, 2025 - May 8, 2026

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Current undergrad or graduate UVA student

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Video/media production
  • Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, etc.) or similar applications
  • iMovie, or a similar video editing program
  • Familiarity with media formats and standards
  • Familiarity with video production best practices


PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require walking between studios to provide assistance.
