Position Summary
The University of Central Arkansas Athletic Department is seeking a talented, creative, and detail-oriented student Videographer to join our team. This individual will play a key role in capturing high-quality video content for a wide range of athletic-related needs, with a primary focus on recruiting content for prospective student-athletes, team features, hype videos, and studio-based content for media days and promotions. While prior sports knowledge is preferred, it is not required. Candidates must have their own video equipment.
This is a new position within the department, so if you’ve applied to a previous role, please reapply. We are looking to hire at least two candidates to help manage the volume of projects. Job Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment Videography:
- Film and edit compelling video content of prospective student-athletes to showcase UCA’s athletic programs.
- Collaborate with coaching staff and the creative director to ensure video content aligns with recruiting goals and team branding.
- Plan and execute shoots including interviews, cinematic b-roll, and highlight reels.
- Set up and film studio content including athlete introductions, green screen interviews, and branded team features.
- Manage lighting, audio, and video equipment for controlled studio environments.
- Edit videos for social media, media days, and internal department use.
- Work closely with the athletics marketing, communications, and creative media teams to create consistent and brand-aligned video content.
- Produce video content for platforms such as the UCA Athletics website, social media, video boards, media guides, and recruitment packages.
- Organize and maintain a digital archive of raw and edited footage for efficient access and re-use.
- Label and tag content properly to streamline workflow across creative teams.
- Assist with general video needs for special events, campus-wide initiatives, and promotional campaigns across UCA Athletics.
Experience:
- Prior experience in videography and video editing; sports-related experience is a plus but not required.
- Proficiency with DSLR or mirrorless cameras capable of high-quality video, as well as lighting and audio gear.
- Strong editing skills using Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or equivalent video software.
- Familiarity with motion graphics and color grading is a plus.
- Flexible schedule with availability for weekend and occasional weekday shoots.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management to handle multiple shoots and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with coaches, staff, and student-athletes.
- Strong communication and creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to carry and set up video production equipment (including cameras, tripods, lighting, audio gear) in both indoor and outdoor settings.
