Position Summary

The University of Central Arkansas Athletic Department is seeking a talented, creative, and detail-oriented student Photographer to join our team. This individual will play a key role in capturing high-quality imagery for a wide range of athletic-related needs

Job Duties and Responsibilities


Recruitment Photography:

  • Photograph prospective student-athletes, capturing professional and engaging images that showcase the athletic programs and potential recruits..
  • Collaborate with the coaching staff and creative director to ensure the recruitment imagery aligns with team goals and brand identity.
  • Coordinate and conduct photoshoots, including individual athlete portraits, team photos, and action shots, for various sports.
  • Set up and manage studio shoots for portraits, headshots, and promotional images for student-athletes and staff.
  • Manage photo equipment, lighting setups, and backdrops for studio sessions.
  • Edit and retouch photos to meet department standards and deliverables.
  • Collaboration with Marketing & Communications Teams:
    • Work closely with the athletic marketing, communications, and creative media teams to ensure all photographic content supports the overall branding and strategic goals of the UCA Athletics Department.
    • Provide images for use across various platforms, including the UCA Athletics website, social media, media guides, and other promotional materials
  • Photo Archive Management:
    • Organize and maintain an efficient digital archive of all photos, ensuring quick access and easy retrieval of images for future use.
  • Other Duties as Assigned:
    • Assist with general photography needs for special events, campus-wide initiatives, and UCA Athletics promotions.
Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Experience with photography in a studio environment. Knowledge of sports is preferred.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency with DSLR and mirrorless camera systems, lenses, lighting equipment, and studio setups.
  • Skills in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Lightroom and Photoshop, for photo editing and retouching.
  • Familiarity with video/photo management software and cloud storage solutions.
  • Other Skills and Abilities:
    • Be able to adjust schedules frequently. Most photoshoots will be on the weekend with some spontaneous ones during the week.
    • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple photoshoots and deadlines.
    • Ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple projects, and adapt to changes in scheduling.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with coaches, staff, and student-athletes.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to carry and set up photography equipment (including cameras, tripods, lighting, and backdrops) in various settings.
