Responsibilities
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of technical manuals for prime mission equipment (PME) hardware, software, systems engineering, system operations, training, and testing, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and operator procedures.
- Collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts to understand PME technical updates and create technical manual content.
- Support the development, updates, and maintenance of CDRL and program documentation.
- Support the development of artifacts for the FAA Airworthiness Certification process.

Who You Are
- Experienced technical writer able to develop, maintain, and update technical documentation, manuals, and procedures in collaboration with the engineering team.
- Able to manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience working on a physical hardware/software intensive program and delivering artifacts for development and maintenance of the system.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience, with 6 years of professional experience, or 4 years with a related Masters degree (career/journey level).
- Proficient in Adobe FrameMaker, Acrobat Pro, and Microsoft Office.
- Proficient in authoring technical content to required standards, style guidance, and contract requirements with clear and concise language.
- Ability to facilitate/review boards and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and system description documents.
- Effective time management and ability to multi-task.
Desired Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Jira and Confluence experience.
- Experience with military aircraft technical order editing/writing processes.
- Experience with Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA).
Security and Availability
- Security Clearance: This position requires a government security clearance; US Citizenship is required.
- Clearance Level: Secret.
- Work Arrangement: Part-time remote telework with on-site work at a Lockheed Martin facility as discussed during hiring.
- Schedule: 4x10 hour days, 3 days off per week.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay range in California, New York (excluding certain metro areas) and other specified states is $69,900 - $123,280. Salary is location-dependent and may vary by market and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, PTO, and holidays.
