About the Role
We’re seeking a highly skilled Graphic Designer with 7–10 years of experience, expertise in design systems, Figma, and designing for software, web, and mobile. You will develop and maintain the GM Design System, creating reusable components, documentation, and guidelines to ensure consistency, accessibility, and quality across platforms.
You should have a passion for modern design, strong systems thinking, and a focus on clarity, structure, and functionality. Collaboration with engineers is essential to ensure high-fidelity implementation.
You will work across vehicle OS, web, and mobile teams to unify the design system while supporting platform-specific needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain reusable components within the GM Design System.
- Manage shared libraries in Figma, including UI kits and tokens.
- Create documentation and guidance pages for Figma UI Kits.
- Collaborate with front-end developers for accurate implementation.
- Participate in grooming and sprint planning.
- Develop documentation, guidelines, and specifications for components.
- Ensure accessibility, scalability, and consistency.
- Work with cross-functional teams to unify design language.
- Conduct audits and propose system improvements.
- Promote best practices in system design and workflows.
- Mentor a small team of designers, fostering growth and collaboration.
Qualifications
- 7–10 years in digital product design, focusing on design systems.
- Expertise in Figma, including auto layout, variants, and libraries.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and vector-based design.
- Experience designing for web, mobile, and software with responsive UI skills.
- Strong communication of design decisions.
- Experience working with developers in agile environments.
- Knowledge of typography, visual hierarchy, and UI best practices.
- Experience with version control, naming conventions, and scalable workflows.
- Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards, prototyping, and design tokens.
- Proficiency in prototyping click-throughs.

Compensation
- The salary range is $177,000 - $270,900, based on experience and location.
- Incentive pay is available based on performance.
