The Senior AV Installation Technician will support the buildup and modernization of DoD facilities. This role involves providing Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I)/Information Technology (IT) electronic systems equipment, infrastructure, engineering, design, installation, and support for supply and warehouse operations. Services include design, installation, termination, testing, and documentation of desktop devices, peripherals, IT cable plant, racks, and power distribution units for C4I/IT electronic systems, in accordance with government installation design plans (IDP). The work is conducted within classified office spaces, IT data centers, telecommunications spaces, or other designated spaces for C4I/IT electronics systems, including newly constructed secure buildings.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to obtain, maintain, and access classified information at the TS/SCI level.
- Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification required; CTS-I, Audiovisual Network Professional (AVP), or other vendor-specific certifications.
- Comprehensive knowledge of service, maintenance, operation procedures, and troubleshooting of IT and AV systems and equipment.
- Command of AV equipment assembly and testing.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to interpret technical materials.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical directives.
- Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and execute tasks individually and in teams.
- Willingness to learn new concepts and techniques.
- Ability to travel within a 50-mile radius as needed.
- Operational knowledge of PC systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain required technical abilities.
- Participate in all phases of IT and AV infrastructure installation or upgrades.
- Install racks, cabinets, credenzas, and peripheral equipment.
- Mount monitors, speakers, and other devices on walls.
- Dress cables neatly with slack for proper movement.
- Update and maintain design documents, marking all "as-built" changes.
- Label cables at both ends for identification.
- Troubleshoot network infrastructure issues, coordinating with other disciplines.
- Conduct Pre-Installation Test and Checkout (PITCO) activities.
- Test and document cables, equipment, and materials.
- Perform non-standardized assignments, including demolition and disposal of infrastructure.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree, technical certification, and/or at least five years of experience supporting cabling, equipment, and AV systems installation. Minimum five years troubleshooting and repairing AV systems. Minimum three years using Microsoft Office or equivalent education/experience.
Pay Range: $35.77 to $45.70, contingent on location, skills, and experience.
