Job Description

As a Marketing and Content Strategist at One Day In July, you will be responsible for analyzing the firm’s lead flow data, as well as data on various marketing campaigns in order to support future growth. Using the knowledge you gain from the analytics, you will create marketing campaigns across a variety of channels that seek to increase lead flow. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects as you use analytics to come up with a plan, establish a budget, create necessary content, and then deploy and monitor the campaign, adjusting as necessary. You will report to and work closely with One Day In July’s Senior Marketing Manager, Caroline Russell.

We move fast at One Day In July. There are not layers of bureaucracy or committees that need to approve every design or campaign idea. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated by large data sets, detail oriented, possess a keen eye for design, and be comfortable in a fast paced environment. This role provides the opportunity to combine technical and creative skills to have a measurable impact on the firm’s growth.

In this role, you will:

  • Analyze lead flow data in order to help the firm become more efficient.
  • Analyze marketing data in order to identify opportunities for targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Present your findings in easy-to-read formats for others in the firm to use.
  • Create marketing assets for digital and print campaigns. This includes creating both graphics and text.
  • Be able to research complicated financial topics and distill them into easy to understand materials for use online and in print.
  • Write content and build pages for the One Day In July website.
  • Create ads and organic content for social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook).
  • Be creative – work with the marketing team to come up with new ideas. While this is an investment firm, there is a lot of room for creativity.
  • Work closely with the compliance department to ensure all advertising and content follows the SEC marketing rules.
  • Pay close attention to recordkeeping, ensuring all assets are kept organized in the firm’s recordkeeping system.

A strong candidate will:

  • Be a master of the Adobe Suite, specifically Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat. Knowledge of Premier and Lightroom are a plus.
  • Maintain a high standard for attention to detail and documentation.
  • Enjoy diving into large data sets looking for small insights to apply to marketing or other areas of the firm.
  • Have excellent computer skills: Excel, Word, Gmail, and web browsers.
  • Be organized. This is a small team and there are a lot of moving parts.
  • Be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Be well versed in Google Ads.
  • Have excellent graphic design skills.
  • Possess a positive attitude, tremendous grit, and ability to prioritize.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in marketing, design, or related field.
  • Knowledge of ProCreate and ProCreate Dreams is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS is a plus.

  • An excellent Mac laptop with a fast processor and retina screen, a sit-down / stand-up desk, plenty of space to work comfortably, relatively private work areas, and other resources for top productivity. Our employees are not cogs in a machine and we don’t treat them that way.
