Department Description:
The Master of Arts in Communication and Business Leadership program offers a multidisciplinaryapproach, directly addressing an industry-identified skills gap between academic preparation and professional demands. In this program, students will develop proficiency in four essential skills areas: leadership, communication, teamwork, and critical thinking, through practical, application-based learning.
Job Description:
The department is looking for a graduate research assistant to work on data collection, literature review and manuscript development of academic projects. The candidate will work closely with faculty on the research methodology and work to create abstracts for conference submission and writing an academic manuscript. The candidate will also be expected to present any research should it be accepted at a conference. The student will work independently, but in collaboration with the faculty supervisor on a research project. The candidate will be collecting the data for assessment and assist with the data analysis. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the project and be listed as an author on all submissions related to the research project(s).
Job Location/ Hours Required:
The candidate will perform most/all job duties in Nido Qubein School of Communication. Hours may vary depending on the job requirements; however, the total number of hours a student employee may work per week is 20 hours. This position will require approximately 10 hours per week.
Responsibilities :
- Data collection under supervision of faculty. The candidate will be expected to work independently and attend weekly progress meetings.
- Data entry and management of any data in a shared file.
- Initial data review and analysis under supervision of faculty
- Write abstracts for submission to academic conferences
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a graduate student
- Familiarity with sport management content
