Positions available for Arrangement Designers/Sr Designers with the ability to produce deliverables to support the development of products from design sketches, layouts, and concepts, including manufacture, assembly, and testing.

Department 469, Arrangements Design, is dedicated to providing high-quality overall design for equipment located throughout the ship, serving as the center of excellence for the design of various submarine classes and special programs. We ensure that equipment placement meets all technical, operational, maintenance, sustainability, human engineering, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities include creating future submarine concepts, locating stowage and lockers for onboard repair parts, planning illumination, flow paths, and performing system integration roles. The CAD programs used are CATIA, NX Team Center, and AUTO CAD, enabling downstream data transfer for submarine production.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or Vocational High School diploma
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two-year Technical School/College
  • Spatial recognition skills
  • Knowledge of human engineering design standards
  • Proficiency in CAD drafting with a portfolio
  • Design-related math skills
  • Knowledge of design standards, GD&T, military specifications, manufacturing, and lean design
  • Desire for continued learning and skill development
  • Familiarity with NX or CATIA
  • Public speaking ability for presenting designs
  • Understanding of equipment flow paths and removals
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to interpret instructions and blueprints
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Attention to detail, creativity, problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of design practices and integration
