Detroit Defense is seeking a Technical Illustrator with knowledge of current graphic design software to produce graphic art and visual materials for websites, promotions, advertisements, marketing materials, and instructional content across various media outlets.
This role requires the ability to generate and manipulate graphic images, animations, sound, text, and video into seamless multimedia programs. Candidates should stay updated on technological advances in the field and identify applicable areas within the organization. Applicants must have real-world experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. May lead others.
The Technical Illustrator will collaborate with U.S. Army and Contractor personnel, including engineers, designers, technicians, and logisticians, to perform maintenance task analysis and develop technical documentation supporting the operation and maintenance of platform systems. The ideal candidate is proactive, eager to learn, analytical, and effective in problem-solving.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a team providing logistics support for Technical Manual development
- Create and update illustrations using Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, SolidWorks, and Vis Pro
- Develop illustrations from source markups
- Vector trace over photographs and raster art to create drawings
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or minimum of 10 years of relevant military or U.S. Government experience
- Ability to interpret and convert engineering models, drawings, schematics, and spreadsheets into MIL STD documentation and reference materials
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Pro, FrameMaker, Illustrator, Photoshop, Iso Draw, and SolidWorks
- Familiarity with Military Documentation Standards: MIL-STD-40051, MIL-STD-2361C, MIL-HDBK-1222F
- Ability to obtain a Common Access Card and Security Clearance
