Medical Librarian, Knoxville Job at Lincoln Memorial University in Knoxville

The Medical Librarian shall be responsible for providing reference assistance, collection development, and library instruction at the LMU - West Knoxville site for the programs of Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and as needed for Osteopathic Medicine, Physician Assistant Studies, and other programs offered at that site.

Required Qualifications

- M.L.S. from an ALA-accredited program

- Knowledge of software and technology used to perform office, administrative, and instructional functions such as Microsoft Office applications

- Some experience in an academic/medical/health sciences library

Preferred Qualifications

- Two years of experience in an academic/medical/health sciences library

- Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP) credential or provisional membership

- Additional advanced degree relevant to LMU's programs

Job Duties

1. Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to faculty, staff, students, and the community
2. Foster effective working relationships among faculty, staff, and students
3. Provide reference assistance and library instruction at the LMU - West Knoxville site for Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Osteopathic Medicine, Physician Assistant Studies, and other programs as needed
4. Develop and maintain collection development for health sciences programs
5. Offer reference services via face-to-face, telephone, email, and chat
6. Create and update video tutorials and library guides for health sciences
7. Market LMU - West Knoxville library services and the university's mission
8. Perform other duties as assigned
9. Maintain confidentiality regarding patron records and university matters
