JOB SUMMARY

Community Bible Church(CBC) is seeking a skilled and solutions-oriented Web Developer to join ourCommunications & Marketing Team. This full-time, in-person position at ourCentral Campus in San Antonio, TX will play a key role in supporting thechurch’s digital presence and ensuring that our online platforms effectivelyserve our ministries. The Web Developer will be responsible for maintaining andimproving existing web pages, as well as developing new, engaging, andmission-driven web experiences. Strong coding skills are required, withexperience in Rock RMS preferred but not mandatory.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Build, maintain, and update CBC’swebsite to ensure accurate, relevant, and timely content across all ministryareas
  • Utilize strong design skills to create visually engaging, user-friendly layouts while also applying development expertise to ensure functionality and performance
  • Manage projects from concept through implementation, combining creative design with technical development to deliver solutions that are both aesthetically effective and fully operational.
  • Develop new web pages and digital featuresthat are engaging, user-friendly, and mission-aligned
  • Create custom web solutions usingHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant technologies to meet ministry andorganizational needs
  • Support and enhance functionalitywithin Rock RMS (if applicable), including workflows, online forms, eventregistrations, and content management
  • Partner with ministry leaders andthe Communications & Marketing Team to translate ministry objectives intoeffective digital experiences
  • Ensure all web content isresponsive, mobile-friendly, accessible, and consistent with CBC’s branding anddesign standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolvewebsite-related issues, including performance, security, and design concerns,in a timely and professional manner
  • Monitor web analytics and userengagement metrics, providing data-driven recommendations to improve usability,reach, and effectiveness
  • Research and stay current with bestpractices in web development, digital communication, user experience, andministry technology tools
  • Contribute to a collaborative,solutions-driven team culture that supports CBC’s mission and values
  • Other duties asassigned by the Communications Manager

COMPETENCIES

  • Proficiency in front-end web development,including HTML,CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience with Rock RMS isstrongly preferred
  • Familiarity with C#, SQL, and back-end systemsis a plus
  • Strong UX/UI awareness with attention toaccessibility standards and user-friendly design
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with theability to troubleshoot technical and creative challenges effectively
  • Demonstrates strong design competency with the ability to create visually engaging, user-friendly layouts
  • Exhibits full-stack creative and technical skills by integrating design excellence with development expertise to deliver effective and functional solutions
  • High attention to detail with strongorganizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines,multitask, and produce results in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with digital communication tools,including social media platforms, content management systems, Google Workspace,and presentation software
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to newtechnologies and ministry tools
  • Ability to adapt flexibly to a variety ofministry and organizational needs
  • Strong project management skills, includingthe ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communicationskills with the ability to explain technical concepts tonon-technical staff and volunteers

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTEDHOURS OF WORK

This is a regular full-time in-person position (36-40hrs). Days and hours of operation are scheduled Monday through Thursday. Working weekends and evenings will be required as job duties demand.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing theduties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to do the following:

  • Ability to sit orstand for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings
  • Good or correctedvision, including adequate peripheral vision and depth perception, with theability to adjust focus as needed
  • Manual dexteritysufficient to operate a computer, keyboards, and other office equipment
  • Ability to move aroundthe office to access files, meet with staff, or perform other tasks as needed
  • Ability to communicateclearly and effectively in both written and verbal forms
  • Ability tooccasionally lift or move items weighing up to 15–20 pounds (e.g., boxes ofsupplies or equipment)
  • Ability to performoccasional reaching, stooping, bending, or crouching
  • Ability to workcollaboratively and maintain effective communication with team members andministry staff at all levels of the organization

EDUCATION ANDEXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years ofprofessional web development experience in a comparable role
  • Prior experienceworking in a church, ministry, or nonprofit environment
  • Knowledge of UX/UI designprinciples and web accessibility standards

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Duties are performed primarilyworks in an office setting at CBC’s Central Campus, using computers and otherdigital equipment to perform job duties. The work may involve collaborationwith team members, ministry leaders, and volunteers in meetings or projectdiscussions. Occasional work outside the office or in different ministry spacesmay be required to support events or projects. The role may involve managingmultiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, requiring focus,adaptability, and effective stress management. Environmental noise levels aregenerally minimal to moderate.
