Compensation: Competitive $25.50 - $28.00 per hour
Schedule: Part-time up to 16 hours per week
Duration: Through June 2026

ELSO (Experience Life Science Outdoors) is a youth-centered nonprofit dedicated to creating transformative learning experiences for youth of color. Through our Studio Justice program, we empower young people to explore justice, design, and community building in a supportive and affirming environment.

Position Overview:
We are hiring a Cohort Engagement Instructor (CE Instructor) to support our Texas-based Studio Justice cohort. This role is central to ensuring smooth communication and coordination across participants, families, and community partners, while fostering a vibrant and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Serve as the primary point of contact for communications with participants, parents, guest speakers, and panelists
  • Coordinate logistics and scheduling for guest professionals and visitors
  • Support 8-9 week cohort engagement for 1518 youth (ages 1420)
  • Help cultivate a culture of affirmation, creativity, and justice-centered learning
  • Lead restorative justice practices and model Studio Justice values
  • Collaborate closely with the Lead Instructor and Program Administrator
Qualifications:


  • High School Graduate, or GED completion
  • Experience designing and implementing curriculum and programing for youth ages 14 20
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience working with youth in educational or community settings
  • Ability to manage multiple relationships and logistics with professionalism
  • Familiarity with restorative justice and youth development principles
  • Proficiency with, or willingness to learn, Zoom, Adobe Acrobat, Google applications such as Gmail, drive, docs, sheets, slides, forms, etc.
  • Presentation and instructional software such as Miro and Sketchup
  • Must be able to pass a background check as required by the Oregon Department of Education for positions working directly with youth and have a clean driving record in the previous year
