MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior UX Specialist to join our team in Fort Bragg, NC. This is an on-site position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leads the UX design process from user research and analysis to the creation of user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.

  • Champions user-centered design, ensuring usability, accessibility, and user satisfaction throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Collaborates closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders to gather requirements, brainstorm solutions, and integrate UX design seamlessly.

  • Creates and maintains design systems and style guides to ensure consistency and scalability across products and platforms.

  • Plans and executes usability testing sessions, stays current with industry trends (ensuring adherence to accessibility standards like Section 508 and WCAG), and mentors Junior UX Designers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field or 4+ years of additional experience in lieu of a required bachelor’s degree

  • 9+ year of experience with 5+ years of position specific experience

  • Proficiency in UX design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD), prototyping tools, and user research methodologies.

  • Understanding of DoD security regulations and best practices for designing secure user interfaces.

  • Deep understanding of human-computer interaction (HCI) principles and their application in UX design.

  • Knowledge of human factors engineering (HFE) considerations in UX design, including ergonomics, cognitive psychology, and accessibility.

  • Proficiency in user research methodologies, including user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and A/B testing.

  • Experience designing accessible user interfaces that comply with accessibility standards and guidelines (e.g., Section 508, WCAG).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.

  • Deep knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines, with experience in designing accessible user interfaces. Advanced knowledge of HCI and HFE principles, with experience applying them to complex UX design challenges.

  • Familiarity with emerging UX technologies and trends, such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and voice user interfaces (VUI).

  • Experience with designing user interfaces for military applications or systems.

  • Relevant UX certifications (e.g., Certified Usability Analyst (CUA), Human Factors International (HFI) Certified Professional).

  • Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have an active Secret clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations
