Position Overview
Will be responsible for developing creative content, especially as it relates to recruiting and programming, to be used with recruits and through various digital/social media outlets. This position will ensure that these materials effectively communicate the Marquette men's basketball brand and mission and align with the program's values and messages.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Plan, shoot, edit and produce high-quality long and short form video content for various social media platforms to help build fan connection with the basketball program. Take photos and capture video during practices, shootaround, games, road trips, team activities, etc. Set-up and execute video/photoshoots for official/unofficial recruiting visits and facilitate creative recruiting requests. Travel with the men's basketball team to all away games, team outings, events and functions.
2. Develop and implement creative media strategies for men's basketball in collaboration with the Men's Basketball staff. Create and promote multi-media projects (photo/video/graphics) for the purpose of men's basketball culture, messaging, branding, recruiting and player promotion. Execute strategy for posting on all social media accounts to develop and promote Marquette Basketball, maximizing content and design.
3. Facilitate strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and external groups (NBA, alumni, creative services vendors, Coach's Circle, etc.). Execute shared objectives with other departments (marketing, communications, ticketing, Blue & Gold Fund, president's office, alumni engagement, Learfield, etc) in a coordinated effort with the Men's Basketball staff.
4. Manage digital content database (Dropbox, Box, Canto, etc.) to organize and deliver assets at a fast pace.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Communications and/or graphics related degree
Minimum of 1 year of related experience.
Strong working knowledge of social media content, including video and graphics, creation and posting.
Strong understanding of branding and brand management.
Energetic, motivated, and focused on team goals essential.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work in a team-based environment.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Previous experience in Division I athletics or professional preferred.
