Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Director of Content Creation and Digital Strategy, the Content Specialist is an impactful storyteller who brings the Girl Scout mission to life through compelling social media content and digital storytelling. This role is key to building awareness, engagement, and a sense of community among our audiences primarily via social media channels. The Content Specialist will be part of a six-person marketing communications team, collaborating across departments to develop dynamic social content, manage social platforms, and drive paid social media advertising. A strong emphasis is placed on storytelling through photography, videography, and both long-form and short-form digital content.
Ideal Candidate
GSRV is looking for someone who is innovative in turning community experiences into compelling stories and narratives. Someone who is an expert in creating digital strategies to illustrate and elevate community stories and experience will be most successful in this role. The ideal candidate is constantly recording, asking questions, listening to stakeholders, brainstorming stories into digital ideas, and executing impactful narratives that tell the GSRV stories.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create informative, engaging, and emotionally resonant content specifically for social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, and emerging platforms.
- Manage all aspects of social media accounts, including content scheduling, community engagement, partner interactions, and audience growth strategies.
- Plan, execute, and optimize paid social media advertising campaigns across Meta (Facebook/Instagram), LinkedIn, TikTok, Google and other relevant platforms to increase reach and engagement.
- Collaborate with internal teams to produce digital storytelling content leveraging photography and videography to highlight Girl Scouts' impact and mission.
- Develop both long-form and short-form content formats suitable for various digital platforms to deepen audience connection and engagement.
- Provide editorial and proofing support for social content developed by other departments.
- Maintain and serve as a resource for adherence to the organization's Inclusive Communications and Brand Style Guides.
- Ensure that all social media content and digital marketing is culturally responsive, applies a diversity, equity, inclusion, access, and racial justice lens, and supports the organization's anti-racist goals.
- Monitor social media analytics and reporting to inform strategy and content performance improvements.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across departments to support organizational goals.
