La Exitosa 98.7, New York's newest radio station format, is looking for smart, aggressive, creative salespersons with a track record of success. The innovative new format features hit music from the 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s in English and Spanish and features Spanish language hosts and imaging. Core artists include Madonna, Ricardo Arjona, Prince, Shakira, Phil Collins, Chayanne and Bryan Adams. The strong Dominican, Puerto Rican, Columbian, Mexican, and Ecuadorian communities in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut are radio’s most passionate fans. Delivering the popular hit music these diverse communities grew up listening to, provides a unifying listening experience New York has never heard before. The station is growing quickly, and we need a passionate group of account executives to work with clients to market products and services to this attractive audience.

A successful Account Executive will work directly with local businesses and advertising agencies to generate revenue by securing advertising dollars for station by developing new business and maintaining existing advertisers through great customer service. The ideal candidate will thrive in a high-performance environment, possess a true passion for developing new business, and have a resilient entrepreneurial attitude. This person will also exhibit excellent communication skills and a consistent work ethic.

Primary Position Expectations

  • Consistently meet and exceed revenue targets
  • Initiate sales process by prospecting, scheduling appointments, making presentations, understanding client business needs, developing proposals, and closing sales; develop and maintain client relationships while providing top-quality customer service; utilize solution-based sales training and customer-focused selling
  • Develop aggressive market strategies by monitoring competitive products, trends, and client reactions
  • Build diverse client portfolios by crafting strategic solutions around the stations’ audience; thoroughly understand the station’s competitive situation and ratings position
  • Prepare promotional plans/packages, sales literature, rates, and sales contracts
  • Actively manage, service, and grow multiple accounts with our strategic account management system
  • Able to collaborate with clients and other stakeholders while working remotely
  • Committed to use integrated technology tools include CRM, proposal, sales order, traffic, billing, and collections systems to optimize client impact and internal business process efficiency
  • Attend sales staff meetings and actively participates in training sessions, attend remotes and station events as needed

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years successful media sales experience, proven results track record and ability to call on local, agency and various types of business decision makers
  • College Degree or combination of education and relevant job-related experience
  • Experience with Spanish-language media and advertisers a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with ability to interpret and use business publications, mathematical reports, and Nielsen ratings data
  • Strong work ethic with ability to participate in a collaborative work environment
  • A valid driver’s license or ability to provide one’s own transportation and insurance as required
