UX Specialist - Government Projects
Austin, TX (Must live in Texas, preferably near Austin city limits) Hybrid/Full-Time | State of Texas Contract | No Sponsorships (U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents only) About the Role
Our client at (HHSC) is seeking a
UX Specialist
to support government enterprise systems with a focus on
user-centered design . In this role, you will design user experiences and interfaces that are intuitive, responsive, and accessible, ensuring that applications meet both
state agency standards
and user needs. Key Responsibilities Design
UX/UI interfaces
for web and mobile systems with accessibility in mind. Develop
wireframes, prototypes, and design mockups
using tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch. Apply
UX principles
(hierarchy, alignment, contrast, usability) to system designs. Collaborate with technical teams, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into user-focused solutions. Support
Agile projects
by evolving designs from concept to final implementation. (Preferred) Facilitate
design workshops and feedback sessions
with agency staff. (Preferred) Create
visual diagrams
of workflows, timelines, and system architecture. Minimum Qualifications: 11+ years
of UX/UI design for enterprise systems. 10+ years
applying UX design principles to create intuitive, responsive, and accessible solutions. 10+ years
experience with wireframes, prototypes, and Agile/SDLC environments. Strong experience
collaborating with diverse, cross-functional teams. Proficiency in
modern design tools
(Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar). Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years
creating
visual diagrams
for workflows or system architecture. 3+ years
leading or facilitating
design workshops . Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, HCI, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). Strong multitasking ability to support
multiple projects at once . Eligibility Requirements: Must be a
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
(required for state/government clearance -
no sponsorships allowed ). Must
reside in Texas ; preference for candidates near
Austin city limits .
