Role Summary
Modern Climate is seeking a Programmatic Media Buyer who thrives on curiosity, optimization, and executional excellence. This person will be responsible for the day-to-day setup, management, and performance of programmatic media campaigns. They should be highly analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about maximizing media performance and driving business outcomes.
This is a hands-on role requiring direct experience operating a trade desk — not through managed service models. The right candidate will be a tactical and strategic thinker, with strong media buying and reporting experience across display, video, native, and emerging programmatic formats.
Responsibilities
- Execute and manage programmatic media buys across display, video, native, audio, and CTV platforms.
- Own the setup, QA, optimization, pacing, and performance of campaigns through DSP.
- Identify and manage private marketplace (PMP) deals.
- Translate media strategies into executable campaign plans with a focus on driving measurable outcomes.
- Monitor campaign performance daily; adjust targeting, creative, and bid strategies to optimize results. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (creative, account, analytics) to align on campaign goals and ensure flawless execution.
- Regularly report on campaign results, pacing, and insights; provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Contribute to media planning by providing channel recommendations, budget allocations, and audience strategies.
- Stay informed on programmatic trends, new technologies, targeting opportunities, and platform updates.
- Support testing initiatives, including A/B tests, new audience segments, inventory types, or creative formats.
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience managing programmatic media campaigns directly through a DSP; managed service experience does not qualify.
- Strong understanding of the programmatic ecosystem, including ad tech, targeting capabilities, and measurement.
- Demonstrated experience in campaign reporting, optimization, and data analysis.
- Familiarity with verification, brand safety, and third-party measurement tools.
- Ability to manage multiple campaigns and timelines with a high attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present performance updates and media recommendations.
- Working knowledge of Google Analytics, Looker Studio, Excel, or similar data analysis/reporting tools.
- A team-oriented self-starter with a problem-solving mindset and strong curiosity for learning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Digital Media, or a related field preferred.
- Exposure to campaign management across paid social or search platforms.
- Understanding of creative best practices in programmatic channels.
- Familiarity with cookieless targeting and evolving privacy regulations.
