Pomona-Pitzer Athletics is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Play-by-Play Broadcaster to provide high-quality live coverage of varsity athletic events during the 2025–2026 academic year.

The successful candidate will serve as the lead voice for select home games, delivering engaging commentary for a variety of NCAA Division III sports via Pomona-Pitzer’s livestream platforms. Assistant should be familiar with, and work to remain compliant with, college, Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), and National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III (NCAA DIII) rules and procedures. The department is particularly interested in candidates who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

Provide live play-by-play commentary for designated varsity athletic contests
Collaborate with the Athletic Communications team to prepare for broadcasts with roster research, storylines, and key matchups
Work alongside color commentators (when applicable) to create an informative and entertaining viewer experience
Operate or assist with basic streaming equipment, including microphones, headsets, and livestream software
Conduct pre-game and post-game interviews with coaches or student-athletes (as needed)
Maintain a professional on-air presence that aligns with the values and image of Pomona-Pitzer Athletics
Be available for select evenings, weekends, and special events
QUALIFICATIONS

Prior experience calling live sports (collegiate, high school, or professional level preferred)
Strong knowledge of NCAA sports, particularly at the Division III level
Excellent verbal communication and storytelling skills
Ability to work independently and under time constraints
Familiarity with livestreaming platforms such as HUDL, Tricaster, or Production Truck is a plus
Must be punctual, reliable, and demonstrate strong professional etiquette
Passion for sports and the student-athlete experience
ADDITIONAL DEPARTMENT DUTIES

Serve as home contest manager
Work alongside the Assistant Athletic Director for Operations and Events
Opportunities to work alongside athletics communications
Assist with club sports
Assist with oversight of the Athletic Performance Center
Assist with the Center for Athletics, Recreation, and Wellness
Serve on department committees
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This is a part-time, non-benefitted, non-exempt, temporary position. Events typically take place during the evenings and weekends as there are roughly 60-80 events throughout the academic year. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the College or division.

RATE

The hourly rate for this role is $70.00 per hour.

The specific factors that the College will consider when offering a salary to an individual will include, but not be limited to: education, training, relevant prior experience, and performance in prior roles.
