Sports Broadcast Solutions, or SBS for short, is a Broadcasting Network for Everyone. We offer live broadcasts for the non-professional athlete, filming in 720P HD, 1080P HD, and 4K. Our services include live score banners, time codes, pregame interviews, play-by-play commentary, live stats, and more. We also offer professional sports uploads, such as this example.

What the Role Entails

SBS is currently looking for freelance paid and pro bono play-by-play commentators, color commentators, and field reporters. Key responsibilities include:

1. Responding promptly to mass Blind Carbon Copy emails; delays may be perceived as disinterest in on-air responsibilities.
2. Having a passion for the product and a desire to create meaningful experiences for players, viewers, and fans.
3. Previous experience in play-by-play, color commentary, or field reporting is highly recommended but not required.
4. Ability to memorize names and numbers effectively.
5. Having a demo reel (YouTube link) for field reporting, play-by-play, or color commentary on file.
6. Understanding that this isn’t for calling high-profile NCAA Division I games; the focus is on non-professional sports.
7. Having a demo reel is mandatory for play-by-play duties; no exceptions.
8. Being aware that this is LIVE broadcasting.
9. Knowing that the productions are TV style; radio-style callers need not apply.
10. Enjoying non-professional sports broadcasts, such as travel baseball, high school and college athletics, AAU basketball, Pop Warner football, and travel hockey.
11. If interested in editing sports videos, remote work is available. Search “Kirby Puckett Sports Broadcast Solutions” on YouTube for examples.
12. Entry-level candidates are welcome.
13. A bachelor’s degree in Video Production, Broadcast Journalism, or a related field is highly recommended.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $50.00 – $62.00 per hour
