Duties include gathering and writing local news and sports, providing local sports play-by-play commentary, creative production work for clients, coordination of community event coverage, updating our high traffic web site and voicetracking an air shift. Duties

• Daily shift 7a-4p M-F + Saturdays as needed. Voicetrack 10a-4p.
• Run remote broadcasts as needed in rotation with other members of the staff from town events etc…
• Play-by-Play- This position is the Play-by-play voice for our tower town Washington Demons, you’ll handle all Demon broadcasts, and assist with scheduling games
• Daily Stories- Minimum of 2 stories daily Mon-Sat plus 1 on Sundays, with a sound byte daily. Responsible for updating these both on air and to our website daily.
• Coaches Corner- Weekly show that airs on Saturday morning. Responsible for coordinating and doing interviews with area coaches
• PM Sports Page- This is a show that airs Wednesdays and Thursdays. Responsible for coordinating and doing interviews with area coaches, as well as selecting our Athlete of The Week and interviewing that athlete weekly.
• Severe Weather Action Team- During any Warnings for Washington County, we stop all programming to cover the weather. This position is required to report from the studio along with the rest of the staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in Play by Play and sports coverage.
• Strong writing skills to put together all written stories for sports.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Familiarity with social media management strategies and best practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Creative mindset with an eye for detail in editing and storytelling.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain project timelines and deliverables.
• Must move to Washington, IA

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $36,000.00 per year
