PEPL, Inc. has been engaged to place a Content Marketing Lead for a growing insurance agency in Atlanta, Georgia. This individual will develop and execute a high-volume content marketing strategy that attracts and engages our client’s target audience while optimizing for conversions. This role centers on managing a team of external copywriters and/or agencies for content creation at scale. Strong focus on user experience (UX) and conversion rate optimization (CRO). The Content Lead will coordinate daily output from external content agencies and ensure all content is high-quality, on-brand, and conversion-focused.
Must-Have Experience & Traits:
- Content Strategy & Execution: Proven ability to craft and manage a content marketing plan that aligns with business goals. Experience building content calendars, defining content themes for highly competitive industries like the auto insurance niche, and managing production workflows.
- SEO & Audience Insight: Deep understanding of SEO content best practices – can conduct keyword research and guide writers on optimizing content for search intent and engagement. Familiar with creating content that satisfies user needs (informational intent for insurance shoppers) while incorporating CRO elements (strong calls-to-action, lead capture forms, etc.).
- CRO and UX Orientation: User-centric mindset with a background in A/B testing and analyzing user behavior to improve content performance. Skilled at tweaking headlines, layouts, and CTAs to lift conversion rates. Understands landing page principles and how to present content for maximum impact and readability (e.g. scannable layouts, trust signals, etc.).
- Project Management & Agency Coordination: Experience managing writers or agencies producing content at scale (our goal is a large volume of insurance guides, blogs, FAQs, etc.). Organized and detail-oriented, able to ensure a steady content pipeline without sacrificing quality. Coordinates editing, proofreading, and publication across potentially dozens of pieces per month.
- Analytics & Optimization: Data-driven approach to content – regularly monitors content performance metrics (traffic, engagement, conversion) and conducts content audits to identify improvement opportunities. Comfortable using analytics tools (Google Analytics, heatmaps, etc.) to iterate on content and improve time on page and conversion funnels.
- AI-Friendly and Innovative: Embraces AI tools to increase content production efficiency (e.g., using AI for outlining, initial drafts, or content ideas) while maintaining human quality control. Stays on top of content trends, including how AI-generated content can be leveraged and the importance of human oversight for accuracy (especially in financial/insurance content).
Good to Have:
- UX Design Collaboration: Ability to work with designers on page layouts, infographics, or interactive content to enhance user engagement. Some familiarity with UX principles or tools is a plus (ensuring content pages are intuitive and visually appealing).
- Email and Social Content Experience: While focus is on SEO content, experience repurposing content for email newsletters or social media can be beneficial to drive omni-channel engagement.
- Insurance/Finance Content Familiarity: Understanding of compliance and tone required for insurance content. Knowledge of what content and offers resonate with users seeking insurance quotes (e.g. comparison guides, cost-saving tips) to help tailor the strategy.
Proven Track Record: A history of successful content campaigns with measurable results, for example, having grown blog traffic and lead generation significantly at a prior company. Examples might include lifting organic traffic by a certain percentage through content SEO, or improving conversion rates on content landing pages via testing. Demonstrated ability to balance creativity with business metrics (e.g., increased engagement and achieved target conversions on content-driven pages) is essential.
