Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 weekend virtual support occasionally needed.

About The Role

The Methodist Medical Library is seeking a Library Services Consultant to support healthcare providers, staff, patients, and families by providing literature searches, managing digital resources, and assisting with reference questions and technology. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred), 3-5 years of experience, and strong customer service skills. Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive searches using electronic and evidence-based resources, assisting with reference and technology needs, maintaining electronic access and digital resources, and participating in collection development and resource analysis. The role aims to enhance healthcare support through innovative library services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree is required. Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Requires 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Authoritative knowledge of knowledge-based systems and services, library platforms, innovative technology and the ability to learn new applications quickly.
  • Very thorough knowledge of Library policies, procedures and services and the ability to contribute to their creation and revision.
  • Knowledge of major programs at the organization and the ability to recognize and understand user needs; requires a proactive awareness of new programs in order to assemble a base collection of supportive materials and programs.
  • Ability to perform document delivery and interlibrary loan.
