Coordinator, Business Affairs (20th Television)

The ideal candidate for this business affairs professional role will be either a recent JD or MBA graduate with an understanding of the work, processes, and relevant business drivers for a Studio BA team and/or experience working in a legal or business affairs department, and an interest in deepening their learning about the business and legal side of television.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and revise deal memos and agreements for a team of negotiators.
  • Learn and document department policies, procedures, and deal terms; serve as a resource for the team and other departments.
  • Update databases, charts, reports, and Document Management systems; distribute documents to clients and internal partners; maintain legal contract filing systems; monitor legal dates (e.g., options, expirations).
  • Respond to questions regarding deal terms and negotiation status.
  • Manage written correspondence and facilitate legal document execution.
  • Assist in preparing legal documents, redlines, letters, contracts, and other correspondence.
  • Review budgets and credits for accuracy.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing calendars, meetings, conference calls, and expense reports.

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 1+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a legal, business affairs, or studio setting.
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exposure to legal issues relevant to studios or exhibitors is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe Acrobat; experience with NetDocs, DocuSign, AirTable is a bonus.
  • Strong written (including legal drafting) and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks independently.
  • High integrity, discretion, and professionalism due to exposure to confidential information.
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal guidance and respond quickly to urgent situations.
  • Client-service orientation, attention to detail, adaptability, and composure under pressure.
  • Reside within commuting distance to Burbank, CA.

Preferred Qualifications

JD or MBA degree preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

The hiring range in Burbank, CA is $58,700 to $78,600 annually, based on a 40-hour work week. Actual pay will consider internal equity, geographic region, skills, and experience. Benefits include potential bonuses, long-term incentives, and comprehensive medical and financial benefits.
