Edgemine Inc is hiring: Assistant Fashion Designer at JOA in Los Angeles
Edgemine Inc, Los Angeles, CA, United States, 90079
About JOA
JOA (Just Our Aesthetic) is a women’s wholesale fashion brand based in Los Angeles, known for creating effortless, everyday pieces with a casual, confident edge. Our collections focus on versatile essentials with soft textures, thoughtful cuts, and clean lines. We design for movement, comfort, and wearability. Style that feels lived-in from the start.
We operate in a fast-paced, production-focused environment where timelines are tight and attention to detail matters. At the same time, we believe that consistent progress, both in product and process, is essential to staying competitive. We’re building a team that shares this mindset.
The Role
We’re hiring an Assistant Fashion Designer to join our design team. This is a hands-on role that supports every stage of the design and development process, from concept research and sketching to fittings and photoshoot prep. The day-to-day work is production heavy, deadline driven, and often repetitive. But it’s also essential to keeping the design calendar moving and the product consistent. If you’re focused, detail-oriented, and looking to build real experience in the wholesale apparel industry, this could be a strong fit.
Key Responsibilities
• Research seasonal trends, colors, and fabrics that align with the brand direction
• Create and revise flat sketches, colorways, and CADs
• Assist in building clear and organized tech packs for sampling and production
• Support sample tracking, fit sessions, and help communicate changes to the factory
• Help prepare for campaign photoshoots including steaming, organizing garments, and assisting on set
• Enter and update style data in NetSuite and maintain internal style records
What We’re Looking For
• Strong interest in women’s fashion, silhouette, and product development
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (or similar tools)
• Organized and reliable, with attention to detail in repetitive, process-based tasks
• Strong communicator and dependable team player
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite is a plus
• Internship or previous experience in wholesale or production environments preferred
Work Culture
This is not a purely creative role. The majority of the work is technical, operational, and requires accuracy and follow-through. But for someone who values structure and is open to learning the full backend of fashion design, there’s opportunity to grow and contribute in a meaningful way. We’re actively working toward a culture of improvement, communication, and accountability, and we’re looking for people who take pride in their work. Especially the small details.
Compensation and Benefits
• PPO medical, dental, and vision insurance
• 401(k) with 100% company match up to 4 percent
• Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays
• Complimentary lunch
• Seasonal employee sample sales and team events
• Performance-based bonus eligibility
To apply, please send your resume and portfolio.
We’re looking for someone dependable, focused, and eager to grow with a team that values doing the work right.
