Job Description

The Academic Multimedia Services (AMS) Student Video Technician is responsible for recording, editing, and processing video and creating graphics where needed. Student Video Technicians work as a group to share and carry out responsibilities on a scheduled basis. Student Video Technicians also help maintain staff presence in the AMS office and Simple Studio, coordinating with clients to meet their needs.

Responsibilities

  • Recording, editing, and processing video from classes, university events, and Simple Studio.
  • Assisting other AMS and AV members with classroom and event production.
  • Organizing and maintaining footage on storage devices.
  • Organizing and maintaining AMS equipment and the Simple Studio.
  • Maintaining staff presence in the AMS office and Simple Studio.

Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work

  • Part-Time.
  • 15 hours per week.

Salary Range

  • $17.95 per hour.

Required Education And Experience

  • Excellent customer service, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations in order to maintain quality control.
  • Eager to learn new video production skills.

Preferred Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud products.
  • Experience with professional HD camcorders and other video/audio equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of video recording/editing techniques.
