The Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. (MBN) is seeking a Multimedia Reporter to provide MBN digital platforms with clear and concise writing, video, and audio content. This position is located in Washington, D.C.

Multimedia Reporter - (Contractor)

Primary Function

The Multimedia Reporter is responsible for gathering and verifying information through interviews and observations, organizing all material, and writing stories to fit standard formats. They will produce content for MBN’s digital platforms, including video reports, articles, digital stories, photographs, features, and interviews.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Produce investigative journalism, public policy, and original insight content relevant to MENA and U.S. affairs.
• Create work that includes interviews, analysis of primary sources, data-driven reports, and visual content.
• Pitch timely story ideas aligned with MBN's priorities.
• Collaborate with editors to ensure reporting meets audience needs and platform formats.

Other Duties

Perform additional responsibilities as needed based on organizational requirements.

Candidate Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience.
• Expertise in shooting and editing online videos.
• Strong news judgment, high energy, and self-motivation.
• Proficiency with social media tools like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
• Understanding of Middle East and international current events.
• Proven track record in investigative, data journalism, or policy analysis.
• Familiarity with Washington, D.C. government institutions and think tanks.
• Ability to simplify complex topics into engaging stories.
• Strong research skills and use of open-source tools.
• Ability to produce complete packages independently.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Arabic culture is highly desirable.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under stress.
• Knowledge of current international and U.S. events.
• Flexible work schedule to support 24/7 news environment.
