Base pay range

$16.00/hr - $16.00/hr

Mercadito is a vibrant, chef-driven Mexican restaurant in the heart of River North. Known for our made-from-scratch menu, handcrafted cocktails, and lively atmosphere, we’ve been a Chicago staple for 15 years. We’re looking for a creative and motivated intern to help tell our story online and highlight what makes Mercadito a must-visit destination.

Position Overview

As Mercadito’s Social Media Content Creator Intern, you’ll play an active role in shaping how our brand connects with guests online. From behind-the-scenes kitchen content to showcasing cocktails, tacos, and special events, you’ll capture and create engaging media that brings Mercadito’s energy to life.

Responsibilities

• Plan, shoot, and edit eye-catching photo and video content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other platforms.
• Create and schedule posts that align with promotions, events, and campaigns.
• Capture in-restaurant content including dishes, cocktails, chef features, and guest experiences.
• Support influencer visits and on-site activations.
• Brainstorm trend-driven content ideas to showcase Mercadito’s personality and culture.
• Track engagement and provide feedback on performance.
  
  

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or related field (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of major social media platforms and current content trends.
• Skilled in photography, videography, and basic editing (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, or similar).
• Creative eye for food and lifestyle content.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Availability for ~15 hours per week; some evening/weekend flexibility may be required for events.
