Title: Public Relations Communications Specialist

Location: McLean, VA (hybrid)

Duration: 3 months, possibility of extension

Overview: We're looking for an experienced and highly motivated Public Relations Specialist to join our Fortune 150 Financial Service client's team on a contract basis. You'll be the key player in managing external communications for our Retail Bank and Fraud lines of business. This role is perfect for a self-starter who excels at managing media relations, mitigating reputation risks, and supporting executive communications.

What You'll Do

1. Media Relations: You'll be the primary point of contact for media inquiries related to our Retail Bank and Fraud departments. You'll work closely with our Escalations team to research customer complaints, craft recommended statements, and manage the approval process with key stakeholders before liaising directly with reporters.
2. Reputation Management: You'll play a critical role in protecting our brand. This includes vetting potential business engagements, partnerships, and speaking opportunities for any reputation risk. You'll also support our executive and influencer engagement strategies, including providing assistance with LinkedIn content.
3. Reporting & Measurement: In collaboration with our agency partners, you will lead the development of bi-weekly media coverage reports and quarterly measurement reports to track the success of our PR efforts.
4. Proactive PR: You'll contribute to our proactive media strategy by reviewing and drafting pitches, brainstorming new ideas, and supporting the creation of briefing books for key spokespeople.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree: A degree is required.
• Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a public relations role.
