This role will manage an important multifaceted user feedback loop to keep our product team informed and on track creating premium products that align with user needs. This role will manage tools to gather user feedback and sentiment from open online forums, our own CRM databases, and loyal users. It will also assess the competitive landscape to keep the product team aware of market movements and user responses. All information must be organized and presented clearly to influence product strategy. During product development, the Lead User Researcher will design, organize, recruit, and execute qualitative and quantitative user testing, including validation of performance and safety metrics.
Responsibilities
- Lead Research Strategy: Develop and implement UX research strategies aligned with business goals.
- Research Execution: Plan, recruit, conduct, and analyze various research methods like usability testing, interviews, surveys, and field studies.
- Collaboration: Work with product managers, designers, engineers, and stakeholders to integrate research insights into product development.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Present research findings and facilitate data-driven decisions across the organization.
- Advocate for the User: Ensure user experience is prioritized throughout the product lifecycle.
- Synthesize Insights: Convert research data into actionable insights, personas, journey maps, and wireframes.
- Continuous Improvement: Keep updated on UX research trends and adopt innovative methods.
- Competitive Analysis: Gather and communicate insights on the competitive landscape to aid leadership in setting KPIs and strategic decisions.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5-7 years in UX research, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in HCI, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, or related fields.
- Skills: Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, team leadership, analytical skills, and strong communication abilities.
- Tools: Proficiency with research tools like UserTesting, Optimal Workshop, Lookback, etc.
- Soft Skills: Passion for user experience, user-centered design thinking, strategic mindset.
Physical Work Requirements
Sedentary work involving sitting most of the time, with occasional lifting or moving objects up to 10 pounds.
