Job Title: Technical Writer

Contract Type: W-2 Contract
Rate: $40/hour (No C2C)
Job Summary
We are seeking a Technical Writer to join our team in Salt Lake City. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality technical product and process documentation. This role requires close collaboration with engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure clarity, consistency, and usability of all written materials. The ideal candidate has prior experience supporting documentation within regulated environments and demonstrates proficiency in technical writing tools and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, quality, and other SMEs to gather information and translate technical details into clear, user-friendly documentation.
Create and maintain product manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), training guides, process documentation, and online help content.
Ensure documentation complies with corporate, regulatory, and quality standards.
Edit, revise, and organize content for accuracy, completeness, and readability.
Manage document versioning, approval workflows, and publishing using systems such as MasterControl.
Support updates to ERP system process documentation (JDE, SAP, or equivalent).
Participate in cross-functional reviews and implement feedback efficiently.
Maintain consistency in style, tone, and terminology across all deliverables.
Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives and continuous improvement of documentation processes.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
3–5 years of professional technical writing experience, ideally in a regulated or technical industry.
Experience with MasterControl (document management system) strongly .
Familiarity with ERP systems such as JD Edwards (JDE) and SAP is .
Demonstrated ability to simplify complex technical information into clear, concise documentation.
Knowledge of structured authoring, single-sourcing concepts, and standard style guides (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style, Microsoft Manual of Style).
Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to balance multiple priorities under deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and quality.
Additional Information
Work Arrangement: Onsite or hybrid flexibility may be available depending on project needs.
Contract Rate: $40/hr W-2 (no C2C, benefits eligible through employer of record).
Duration: Initial contract with potential for extension.
