Role Summary

The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating, revising, and maintaining a wide range of technical documents that contribute to the overall success and usability of medical products. This role requires the ability to work collaboratively with various internal teams to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and accurate documentation for both internal and external audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Documentation Development: Create and revise product documentation, including user manuals, package inserts, and product labels, ensuring they comply with company standards and global regulatory guidelines (e.g., ISO, PAL, CE).

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Engineering teams to gain a deep understanding of products and their technical requirements.

  • Information Analysis: Study product specifications, technical drawings, and prototypes to accurately describe technology, operating procedures, and product logistics.

  • Content Management: Analyze existing content for opportunities to improve clarity, consistency, and reusability. Maintain a standardized information architecture.

  • Project Management: Manage multiple documentation projects from concept to completion, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Editing and Quality Assurance: Edit materials for grammar, style, and punctuation, ensuring all documents are accurate and user-friendly.

Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communication, Journalism, or a related field.

  • Experience: Previous professional experience as a Technical Writer, preferably within the medical device, life sciences, or other highly regulated industries.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong proficiency in technical writing and editing.

    • Experience with desktop publishing (DTP) software such as Adobe InDesign, Adobe FrameMaker, or Adobe Illustrator.

    • Familiarity with digital content software applications like MadCap Flare or RoboHelp is .

    • Knowledge of documentation best practices and an understanding of the product development lifecycle.

  • Interpersonal Skills:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail.

    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

    • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to change.

    • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a high degree of flexibility.
