Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate Division 00, 01, and architectural specifications, ensuring alignment with design documents and industry standards.
• Create, write, and maintain project specifications for architectural drawings and design documents.
• Review architectural drawings to ensure specifications reflect design intent and comply with project requirements.
• Coordinate with project architects, engineers, and stakeholders for seamless integration of specifications into project documentation.
• Utilize SpecLink Cloud for efficient creation and management of specification content.
• Stay updated on building codes, industry standards, and materials to ensure accuracy and best practices.
• Support QA/QC efforts to maintain consistency, clarity, and compliance in specifications.
• Assist in selecting materials, finishes, and products aligned with sustainability goals.
• Review and edit specifications prepared by others for consistency and completeness.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors and manufacturers to stay informed on product innovations.
• Provide technical support during construction, including submittal reviews and contractor inquiries related to specifications.

Required Skills

• Experience as a Specifications Writer in an architectural or engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of construction documents, materials, and applicable building codes.
• Ability to produce accurate, well-coordinated, and detailed specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines within a collaborative team.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
• Licensed Architect (preferred).
• CSI (Construction Specifications Institute) certification (preferred).
• Experience with SpecLink Cloud (strongly preferred).
• Familiarity with sustainable design practices and LEED processes (a plus).
• Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) (preferred).
