Senior Analyst, Content Valuation
The Content Strategy and Acquisitions team within the Global TV distribution organization at Sony Pictures has an opening for a Senior Analyst. The team works closely with the various Production units to greenlight new TV Series and Films for the sales organization to distribute worldwide. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly analytical and detail-oriented candidate interested in content distribution.
The Senior Analyst will be responsible for assisting valuation efforts across SPE's Film, Scripted TV, Non-Fiction, Game Show, Kids and International TV labels. This is a key supporting role with a broad scope, touching on many aspects of the television business and is an integral part of a multi-billion-dollar global sales organization. The role requires exceptional organizational skills and the ability to build trusting relationships among multiple business units including Sales, Production, Finance, Marketing, Legal, and Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Update and enhance content valuation models for greenlights and acquisitions
Assist with the ultimate review process. Ensure accurate and timely communication of ultimate values to Finance and Sales organization, including risks and opportunities, and recommend quarterly adjustments
Model financial greenlight scenarios for Film and TV productions
Create various tools and templates including but not limited to tracking greenlight requests, contract details across global distribution agreements, competitive landscape and other key local territory information
Read scripts and creative materials to inform content valuation and strategic decision-making
Proactively track sales and TV performance to ensure targets are achieved
Provide regular and ad hoc sales and performance updates to product owners
Collaborate with the Insights team to identify relevant talent and genre trends to support content evaluation
Assist with content performance analyses and market landscape deep dives, synthesizing data to identify audience behaviors and emerging trends
Requirements:
Bachelor degree required in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics or other analytical field
3-4 years' experience in a previous analytical role with interest in TV and Film distribution
Resourceful with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present analysis
Proactive, solution-oriented and ability to propose creative solutions to problems
Exceptional analytical, financial and organizational skills; detail oriented
Solid understanding of television licensing
Ability to navigate systems, financial models, and complex legal agreements, as well as creative documents
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required, Tableau experience preferred
