Automotive Service Writer  

Established leader in the Vehicle Service Repair industry has an opportunity for an experienced Automotive Service Writer. The ideal candidate will act as the primary point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service and support throughout their vehicle maintenance/mechanical/repair experience. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems and the ability to effectively communicate with both customers and technicians.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Greeting customers professionally to ensure a positive First Impression. 
• Assess customer needs and provide recommendations for vehicle maintenance and repair services
• Setting customer expectations with service capabilities, ensuring clarity on services provided
• Offering additional services based on customer needs and vehicle condition
• Prepare accurate auto estimates for repairs and maintenance services
• Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, service recommendations, and follow-up actions
• Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion of services while keeping customers informed throughout the process either in person or phone
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns
• Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and technologies to provide informed advice to customers

Essential Qualifications:

·         Previous experience in automotive service writing is preferred

·         Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes, including brake repair, shocks, struts, tire service, electrical and general maintenance

·         Comfortable with offering customers other additional recommendations and services

·         Excellent communication skills to effectively transmit information between customers and the service team

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently

·         Experience with Mitchell One Software is highly desired

• Experience with all makes and models of automobiles and trucks   
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to pass MVR in order to road test and verify diagnoses and repairs
• High School diploma OR GED required
