Their strategic marketing leadership spans IES Global, IES Abroad, IES Internships, Customized & Faculty-Led, and Study Abroad Foundation business lines.While directly managing the IES Global Marketing team and budget, the AVP of Marketing leads short-and long-term strategies to innovate and leverage our presence in the field of study abroad, all while keeping the student experience at the forefront.Essential Job Responsibilities & Duties:DEPARTMENT MANAGEMENT & ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIPLead a high-performing IES Global Marketing team, including IES Abroad and Study Abroad Foundation marketersDirectly supervise the following employees, including managing performance, monitoring/assigning workloads, conducting performance reviews, providing feedback, training, setting goals, managing employee relations and issues, managing time off requests/absences and work with Human Resources as needed:Director of BrandingArt DirectorDirector of International Marketing, SAFAssistant Director of Web Strategy & DevelopmentDigital Marketing ManagerFoster a supportive, inclusive, and collaborative environment in which people do their best work.Participate fully and productively in select IES Abroad committees, working groups, and other governance bodies (New Centers team, protocols, Crisis Management Team, New Programs Development team)Develop, advocate for, and manage annual marketing budgetManage contracts and partnerships with 3rd party marketing partners, including advertising, analytics, SEO, production, and web development partnersSet standards and development for Marketing managers, including empowering employees to identify approaches to reach goals and enhance organizational performanceRepresent marketing, web applications, and student journey across all levels of the organizationDevelop positive and effective working relationships and alignment with leaders across other departments, including College Relations, Advising, Enrollment, IT, Academics, and moreEvaluate existing team processes and develop new processes as needed to ensure optimal team efficiency and efficacy.Actively participate in weekly Marketing Executive Team meetingsCollaborate with Director of Strategic Communications to establish and maximize comms and marketing synergiesBuild alignment and collaboration with recruiting efforts to maximize impact with shared audiencesServe on Crisis Management Team to approve messages and provide marketing expertisePlay an integral role in ensuring CRM system and structure are optimized for marketing goalsSTRATEGY & ANALYTICSEstablish goals for Marketing department, including translating company-wide goals into marketing tacticsAnalyze market, competitors, and industry trends to ensure competitive optimization of marketing effortsDrive strategies for core marketing efforts, including paid and organic, web experience, print materials, email, social media, content creation, and more.Establish routine measurement of marketing efforts, to ensure data-informed decision making and transparency around efficacy of effortsBuild alignment with Chief Data Officer and routinely collaborate on marketing and enrollment data as a significant part of institutional dataRoutinely present marketing data to President and Vice President of Global MarketingADVERTISINGManage all online advertising, on-campus advertising, and print campaign strategy and budget.Supervise advertising team to successfully maximize paid outreach, which includes directing all online advertising, on-campus advertising, and print campaigns, including determining best placement opportunities, media buying and placement, and budget planning and supervision for IES Abroad, IES Internships, and IES Abroad Customized Programs.Orchestrate management of IES Abroad's presence on 3rd party websites, including strategy development and implementation by Director of Brand.WEBSITE MANAGEMENTOversee the management and development of website applications by Assistant Director of Web Strategy & Development, ensuring timely ticket resolution for continuous development and innovative enhancementSupervise the management of voice, user experience, and content strategy across all IES Global websitesBuild cross-departmental alignment to ensure cohesive user experience across all web-based applicationsDirect website budget management, advocacy, and efficiency by Assistant Director of Web Strategy & DevelopmentDIGITAL MARKETING & STUDENT JOURNEYPrioritize and oversee the student user experience across mediums and throughout the student journeySupervise content planning management of Digital Marketing Manager, including maintenance of content calendars and ideation, development, and promotion of content across mediumsSet content priorities for organizational offerings, such as Focus Centers based on market interest and enrollment dataOversee the management of organic search engine presence, ensuring synergy with paid efforts to maximize efficacy of spend and reachWith Digital Marketing Manager, orchestrate email marketing campaign strategy and CRM system-based campaigns to engage and nurture prospects through to enrollmentsCollaborate with Multi-Media Marketing Manager in overseeing social media presence, paid and organic as a key tactic to achieve marketing goalsOversee vision-setting for peer-to-peer marketing, including through our Correspondent program managed by Digital Marketing Manager (blogs), Multi-Media Marketing Manager (social correspondents), and Art Director (photo correspondents).BRAND, PRINT & DESIGNOversee branding consistency across mediums and efforts, online, in-person, and in print, including a maintained style guide and brand voiceManage Director of Brand, Director of International Marketing, and Digital Marketing Manager in consistently refining our brand and voice to competitively position our brands in the fieldWith Art Director, develop and implement an innovative and effective design and print strategy and implementation across catalog production, print materials, and digital designOversee photo and media management by Art Director and design team through Digital Asset Management structure, correspondent program, snapshot contests, and moreLead organization-wide branding across all audiences and brands through efforts such as presentation and letterhead building, Style Guide development, staff training, cross-platform marketing input, and moreExperience & Qualifications/Skills10+ years of marketing experience, including managing direct reports and cross- platform brand and marketing strategies7+ years proven supervisory skills and experienceProven managerial and leadership skills, with ability to motivate a dynamic and creative teamStrategic and innovative planning experience, including demonstrated vision-setting and the ability to think outside of the boxExcellent communication skills with proven ability to clearly convey ideas and data in written, presentation, and spoken formats to a variety of audiences, including executive managementProven proactiveness and results-oriented problem-solving skillsExperience with market research and data-informed strategy development.
