Gunderson Dettmer has an opening for a Senior Social Media Coordinator to lead our social media and employee advocacy programs and report to the head of communications.

The ideal candidate will be acreative storyteller, a meticulous curator, and anexpert communicator, delivering impactful content while ensuring consistency and professionalism. This role requires someone who can balance imagination with attention to detail and demonstrate excellence in written communication.

This role will own the opportunity to develop new ways of elevating the firms reputation and brand within the firms brand guidelines and require thoughtful and detailed execution, while handling the volume of announcements and content the team develops on a daily basis.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Develop, execute, and optimize multi-channel social media strategies that amplify Gunderson Dettmers voice and deepen engagement with our innovation-driven audience.

  • Collaboratewith design, marketing and business development teams to seamlessly align campaigns with the firms broader objectives.

  • Research trends, audience preferences, and current events to ensure content remains relevant, timely, and engaging.

  • Maintain active and positive brand awareness on social media platforms.

  • Foster community engagement by monitoring accounts, proposing responses to comments and messages, and cultivating relationships with key influencers and stakeholders.

  • Track and analyze social media metrics (engagement, reach, conversions) and produce reports to inform future strategy and optimize campaigns.

  • Support training of junior team members, helping ensure consistent excellence across all social media efforts.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirements:

  • Demonstrated expertise in managing professional social media accounts for sophisticated brands, ideally within the business, tech, or legal sectors.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills with a highly creative approach to digital storytelling.

  • Superior organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, with strong attention to detail with meticulous follow-through.

  • Deliver high-quality and detailed work, demonstrate operational excellence and ensure quality and integrity in everything you do.

  • Strong use of Canva, Figma, and social media platform analytics (Sprout Social, Hootsuite, etc.)

  • Understanding and use of Mailchimp or other email platform

  • Familiar understanding of corporate communication principles, media relations, public relations and crisis communication strategies.

  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience working with video editing

  • Strategic thinker with creative problem-solving and strong analytical abilities.

  • Knowledge of social media management, digital marketing and SEO practices.

  • Training in brand guidelines with the latest tools and platforms, including social media, content management systems and graphic design software.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors' degree, preferably in communications or marketing or related area, or equivalent work experience.

  • A minimum of 4-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a professional services organization or corporate B2B environment.

The expected starting salary for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 dependent upon qualifications, experience, and location.
