Senior Manager, Technical Program Management

The Alexa Communications team aspires to make it effortless for Alexa to connect and coordinate with the world by anticipating, personalizing, and acting on every communication. Our team is hiring a talented and experienced Senior Manager to help manage the portfolio of Alexa Comms programs to build LLM-powered, next-generation communication features that enable customers to connect with each other (e.g., calling, drop-ins, announcements) and also communicate with Alexa to drive actions (e.g., by email, texting, mobile share). We are seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial, big thinker for leading multiple confidential initiatives within Alexa. You will be joining a team doing innovative work, making a direct impact to customers, showing measurable success, and building with the latest AGI/LLM systems.

In 2025, we have the opportunity to build new products and features from the ground up and we are looking for strong leaders who are not afraid of taking bold bets and trying new things to improve the customer experience for Alexa Communications. Key job responsibilities include: - Leading and mentoring a team of 10+ Technical Program Managers supporting Comms initiatives across sync, async, contacts management, device software and common services. - Partnering with engineering teams, leadership, product management, and UX to ensure were building the best customer experience using innovative technologies. - Serving as the single POC for broader Alexa+ mechanisms like LRs, Deep Dives, Product Days - Stakeholder management across Alexa and partner teams and manage executive level communications - Leading the roadmap prioritization process - Managing cross functional quality initiatives like CPDR deep dives and fixes - Establishing and improving processes for managing complex, cross-functional programs and coordinating release schedules

Basic qualifications include: 15+ years experience in technical program/product management or software engineering, 7+ years experience managing technical teams, including managers, and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field. A strong technical background with ability to understand complex architectures and technologies, experience leading large-scale consumer-facing products/services, track record of delivering results in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, and excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills are also required.

Preferred qualifications include experience with AI/ML, LLM, privacy/security technologies, knowledge of cloud technologies and distributed systems, experience with Agile and Lean methodologies, and strong product sense and customer focus.

The base pay for this position ranges from $175,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $302,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
