Compensation: $110,000 to $120,000. This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position.

You Are

A Copy Director who is a master of language with strategic depth and creative range. You translate business goals, brand strategy, and cultural nuance into clear, compelling messaging that drives results. You write with intention, edit with precision, and think visually. Great copy is not separate from design. It works in lockstep with it.

You understand how words move with imagery, layout, and motion. Your copy complements and elevates visuals. Whether it's a headline on a billboard, content in a carousel, or a script in post-production, your writing brings clarity, energy, and cohesion.

You lead content development across brand, campaign, digital, UX, social, and performance marketing. You build scalable messaging systems, define tone of voice, and create frameworks that unify the work across every touchpoint.

You collaborate closely with designers, art directors, strategists, and clients. You understand visual language, respect design thinking, and make ideas stronger through language that is clear, concise, and emotionally intelligent.

You guide teams with confidence, inspire with craft, and execute with discipline. You dont just write. You define the narrative and carry it through.

The Role

You collaborate closely Chief Creative Officer, Creative Director and the Account Directors to ensure every project meets the brief, upholds the standard, and delivers measurable impact. You guide the work across visuals, language, casting, art direction, and post-production. From strategy to execution, you shape ideas into systems and stories that perform.

You represent VMGROUPEs creative voice to clients, partners, and collaborators. You lead the room, hold the vision, and make the work better.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development of 360? brand messaging across campaign, content, packaging, and digital experience

Define and uphold the brand voice with elegance, restraint, and strategic clarity

Craft storytelling that speaks to discerning audiences while supporting business goals

Collaborate with design, strategy, and marketing teams to ensure language and visuals work in harmony

Execute/ Oversee all copy presentations, client communications, and creative reviews with polish and authority

Team Direction

Mentor and manage writers

Assign creative talent based on skill and opportunity when applicable

Review, refine, and approve all copy/messaging from concept through final delivery

Support team growth through feedback, systems, and daily leadership

Business & Client Partnership

Translate business goals into brand and campaign messaging strategy

Own the visual and conceptual tone for pitch work and key presentations

Lead storytelling across decks, lookbooks, and launch tools

Collaborate with Account Directors to maintain scope and timelines

Support client relationship through consistent creative/voice leadership

Practical Requirements

10+ years of creative experience with 5+ in a leadership or director-level role

Proven success directing the voice and all copy touchpoints for high-profile brands and campaigns

Expertise across brand identity, packaging, digital, social, motion, and experiential

Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and design collaboration tools

Strong storytelling and big idea concept development skills

Experienced in mentoring teams and managing complex workflows

Clear communicator and skilled presenter

Familiar with integrated production timelines, agency processes, and creative ops systems

Experience or familiarity with UX copywriting a plus
