Mechanical Designer

Are you a Mechanical Designer with commercial HVAC or plumbing experience? Would you like to join a growing firm that offers stable, long-term employment?

We’re hiring a Mechanical Designer to support a wide range of commercial, civic, K-12, and infrastructure-focused projects. This is an opportunity for a technically minded, independent professional to work in a flexible environment with the freedom to own their work and contribute to meaningful community projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Design mechanical systems, primarily HVAC, for a variety of building types
  • Assist in plumbing system design and documentation
  • Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and reports
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects and other engineers
  • Coordinate with contractors and respond to RFIs during construction
  • Conduct site visits and perform construction administration tasks as needed
  • Communicate clearly in a remote environment and during in-person meetings or site visits

Qualifications:

  • 4–10 years of mechanical design experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry
  • HVAC design proficiency; plumbing design experience is a plus
  • Associate’s degree in mechanical design, HVAC technology, architecture, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD
  • EIT certification a plus, or interest in pursuing EIT and PE licensure
  • Experience with K-12 and civic projects is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with water and wastewater facilities is a plus, though not required
  • Must reside in Minnesota to support local site visits and construction administration
