Job Description

TMZ is seeking a results-driven Social Media Manager to execute social media strategies, develop content, and manage distribution channels to enhance brand reach and engagement. The role requires a passion for celebrity news, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The position is based in Los Angeles, CA.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage daily operations of TMZ's social media profiles across platforms like Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, etc.
  2. Collaborate with the Director of Social Media to develop initiatives that increase buzz, engagement, and traffic.
  3. Create and implement social media content strategies for short-term campaigns and long-term goals.
  4. Write engaging social media content aligned with TMZ's brand and SEO best practices.
  5. Monitor trends and tools to measure social media impact and effectiveness.
  6. Report and analyze social media performance to inform future strategies.
  7. Act as a brand ambassador, engaging with the audience and fostering community dialogue.
  8. Work with analytics teams to evaluate campaign success and educate teams on best practices.
  9. Identify and pitch news stories from social media for potential coverage.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned.


Requirements

  • At least 2 years of social media management experience for media or website platforms.
  • Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms and tools (Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, etc.).
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to guide and educate teams on social media strategies.
  • Understanding of SEO principles and social media copywriting skills.
  • Interest and knowledge of celebrity news and pop culture.
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with social media advertising campaigns is a plus.
  • Background in editorial, marketing, or PR is beneficial.
  • Thick-skinned, persuasive, with a good sense of humor.

TMZ is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $85,000 annually, plus benefits including health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and more.
