Instructional Systems Designer
Team Carney, a dynamic performance and professional development focused company, is actively seeking an Instructional Systems Designer to support the Law Enforcement Training Division of a government agency. The ideal candidate will have experience implementing the ADDIE model in the development of curriculum to include learning objectives, instructional strategies, structure and sequence, instructional training and e-learning courses. This position is full time and hybrid. Occasional travel to Glynco, Georgia is anticipated. This position requires a background investigation and/or obtaining a security clearance. Duties: Working with subject matter experts and instructors to design and develop lesson plans, student guides, quizzes, and other elements of scenario-based and performance-based instructor-led and web-based training under the guidance of a Sr. ISD. Demonstrating knowledge of law enforcement and leadership training principles and assisting the Senior ISD in fostering design innovation in training these areas. Updating and maintaining course content for instructor-led and web-based courses. Working with an instructional design team (instructional designers, graphic artists, SMEs, instructors) and project and program managers to design responsive training and/or performance support solutions and schedules. Ability to apply expertise on multiple complex work assignments which are broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation to determine how to accomplish tasks. Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success. Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. Minimum Requirements: Willingness to undergo a background investigation and/or obtain a security clearance. Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of at least two (2) years of relevant experience supporting the development of performance-based training law enforcement operations, such as physical techniques, firearms, tactics or related fields. Exceptional interpersonal skills and superior oral and written communication skills. Preferred Requirements: Experience working with ERO Academy staff is highly desirable, but not mandatory if comparable expertise can be demonstrated in a similar federal, military, or basic law enforcement training environment. Extensive knowledge with BIETP FLETA reaccreditation and initial accreditation of other ERO Academy programs. Instructional Systems Design Certification preferred. Annual salary range of $80,000 - $95,000 annually.
