Juilliard is looking for an Artistic Planning and Content Coordinator to work closely with the Director of Artistic and Curricular Planning to implement the divisions long-term artistic goals and put in place the initiatives of the Dean and Director of the division. This position plays a key role in the coordination of artistic and forward-facing content for the division and provides support to program activities. Description

Juilliard is looking for an Artistic Planning and Content Coordinator to work closely with the Director of Artistic and Curricular Planning to implement the divisions long-term artistic goals and put in place the initiatives of the Dean and Director of the division. This position plays a key role in the coordination of artistic and forward-facing content for the division and provides support to program activities.

A successful candidate will have a keen eye for details, collaborative spirit, and the ability both to take direction and to spearhead projects upon instruction. They must be able to multi-task, remain organized, and produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines.

The salary for this role is $52,000 per year.

Role Responsibilities

Communication & Writing Responsibilities

Craft playbills for divisional rehearsal and performance projects and coordinate with Juilliards Communications office for mainstage season programs Compile student, faculty, guest faculty, and guest director bios Assist with annual revisions of Student, Faculty, Playwrights, and Project Director Handbooks and online orientation material Supply photo content and captions for divisional newsletters, website, lobby display, and marketing materials Create daily rehearsal report breakdown Create various surveys for the division and document results Maintain alumni information document Assist in the planning and implementation of Drama Division special events, including the Juilliard Jam, Open House, PlayTime events, Community Meetings, Playwright/Director and MFA Mixers Generate the divisions biweekly newsletter for the Juilliard community, providing an overview of divisional events Work with Communications and Drama Apprentice to maintain and update the division's section of the website: Fourth-Year, Playwrights, and Faculty Maintain the Drama Divisions Facebook page, posting event information as appropriate

Photo Archive Responsibilities

Manage photo archives Compile, organize, and spearhead the transition of content for the lobby display Assist in selection and organization of actor and production photographs for actors and designers as well as the fourth-year actors web pages

Administrative Responsibilities

Assist with curriculum documentation for Academic Affairs, including course catalog updates, course description updates, and evaluation and grading breakdowns Collaborate with the Drama Division staff on all day-to-day administrative projects for the division Assist with scheduling, research, and the organization and execution of artistic projects Oversee periodic updates of the alumni wall Aid in the organization and running of the annual audition process Special Projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelors Degree; equivalent experience considered as a substitute Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and social media platforms Comprehensive understanding of grammar combined with excellent writing and oral communication skills Strong interpersonal skills Ability to take initiative as a project coordinator, think strategically to solve problems, look at the big picture, and maintain astute attention to detail Capability to work collaboratively as part of and in a team setting with a proactive attitude Ability to work independently and perform multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining flexibility, patience, and good humor High motivation to learn and apply the divisions style in the work Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, as needed Understanding of the mission of The Juilliard School as well as the Schools commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging Must exercise excellent judgment and proceed at all times with integrity and discretion The successful candidate must be able to work well with all levels of employees, be flexible in nature, have sound judgment with an open and collaborative style that encourages teamwork and cooperation beyond the immediate team to the broader organization Ability to work with a wide range of constituencies (staff, students, faculty, and administrators) with diplomacy and tact

Preferred Background

Experience in working collaboratively Strong theater background Minimum 2 years experience with arts administration A sense of graphic design; knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop Experience with video editing software a plus

Probationary Period

The probationary period spans six months from the date of hire. The probationary period is a trial period during which time the employee's supervisor considers whether the employee is meeting the standards and expectations of the job and if the School should retain the employee as a "regular" employee.

During the probationary period, the supervisor will evaluate the employee's ability to learn and perform job duties, quality of work, productivity, work habits, cooperation, attendance (exclusive of any job-protected time off), punctuality (exclusive of any job-protected time off), and other standards and expectations specific to the employee's work situation.

Where the employee is not meeting the requirements of the job during the probationary period, the employee may be released at any time during the probationary period. The employee's employment during the probationary period and, if applicable, thereafter is at all times at-will. See below for description of at will employment.

This means that you or Juilliard has the right to end the employment relationship at any time and with or without cause or reason. This atwill employment relationship will remain in effect notwithstanding successful completion of any applicable probationary period or any changes in your position, title, compensation or other terms or conditions of your employment with Juilliard, unless a written employment contract is entered into by an authorized human resources or legal representative of the School, or you become covered by a collective bargaining agreement which provides otherwise.
