Education Week, a nonprofit media organization that provides the most trusted news on K-12 American education, is seeking an Audience Growth Specialist to join our marketing team.
Job Summary
The Audience Growth Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting Education Week’s Audience Development function by executing campaigns and leveraging data to enhance audience engagement and optimize marketing strategies. This position focuses on driving revenue through audience growth and conversions. We are seeking someone with a deep understanding of customer-first marketing strategies, advanced data-driven decision-making skills, and the ability to optimize digital marketing efforts to align with organizational objectives. The Audience Growth Specialist will contribute to Education Week’s overall subscription and membership growth and retention through improved digital outreach and engagement tactics.

The position is based out of our Bethesda, Maryland office, and candidates must reside in the local area.The salary range for this full-time, hybrid position starts at $60,300 - $64,000/year.
Responsibilities
- Analyze marketing performance to inform campaign targeting strategies and optimize audience segmentation
- Lead the creation, testing, and optimization of landing pages and data collection processes
- Collaborate with audience development and engagement, analytics, marketing operations, and product teams to set clear growth goals and track campaign performance
- Drive ROI analysis, ensuring effective data utilization for decision-making and strategic growth
- Support SEO and AI tool integration (when applicable) to enhance digital marketing, customer experience, and workflow effectiveness
- Ensure seamless omni-channel communication, contributing to the creation of cohesive user journeys that support product growth and audience retention
- Create landing pages and omni-channel marketing campaigns for lead generation (webinar, spotlight, quiz, and events) and subscription products as necessary; test and optimize landing pages routinely
- Use data analytics to monitor and optimize campaign performance, collaborate with cross-functional teams to align marketing strategies with organizational goals, and contribute to agile marketing initiatives. This includes:
- Identifying trends and insights
- Adjusting tactics based on key performance metrics
- Providing data-driven recommendations to support strategic decision-making
Qualifications and Skills
- 2-4 years of experience in digital marketing, audience development, or marketing analytics with 2+ years working with digital marketing platforms such as email service providers (ESPs), content experience tools, digital experience platforms (DXPs), content management systems (CMS), webinar platforms, and customer data platforms (CDPs)
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, data analytics, business, or a related field or relevant experience
- Experience managing and optimizing multiple campaigns simultaneously across several digital platforms, adjusting strategies based on performance
- Proficiency in pulling and interpreting data from marketing tools and making informed decisions from the data
- Strong understanding of omni-channel marketing strategies, including email, web, social media, direct mail, and paid media channels
- Deep knowledge of performance tracking, ROI analysis, and campaign optimization through A/B testing and customer segmentation
- In-depth knowledge of customer lifecycle stages and strategies to improve engagement, retention, and user experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Planner)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Comfort in a fast-paced, agile work environment with the ability to quickly pivot based on business needs
- Superior organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task, successfully prioritize, problem solve and meet deadlines
- High level of initiative, critical thinking, and attention to detail
