Job Summary

This position provides patron service and administrative support for library operations.

This is a part time position, maximum of 19 hours/week.Minimum hourly rate $15.67

Responsibilities

Assists patrons - 60%
- Performs circulation desk duties; checks materials in and out; registers patrons.
- Collects payments for lost or damaged items, updates patron records accordingly.
- Answers routine inquiries and refers patrons for reference assistance.
- Answers directional questions and refers patrons to appropriate personnel.
- Answers telephone calls; provides information and assistance; refers callers to appropriate personnel.
- Assists and instructs patrons in the use of the print management system.
- Instructs patrons in the use of reference resources.
- Adds and removes Banner holds on student accounts.
- Assists patrons in the use of the presentation lab.

Provides administrative support for library operations - 20%
- Responsible for taking payments for various library fees.
- Maintains monthly statistics in area of responsibility.
- Completes a variety of regular and special reports.

Assists with library programming - 10%
- Assists in the planning and coordination of library programming.
- Develops library displays and signage for events.

Performs a variety of related duties - 10%
- Sorts and shelves books.
- Reads and straightens shelves.
- Recommends changes to library policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
- Associate's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience
- More than two years of related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in libraries with automated catalog system and audio/video editing programs.
