The role of the Account Manager is essential to internal and external, client facing PRfunctions.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Operates day-to-day account work independently or with report
• Strong leadership presence in account work--proactive and strategic media relations for clients, and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual strategy
• Update media lists and secure new reporters and publications to add
• Effectively pitch by phone as well as email, securing strategic and targeted top-tier placements with ease
• Bring media leads into the firm
• Conduct research, trendand competitor analysis, as needed
• Monitor media for clients
• Ability to edit report’s writing efficiently and in AP style
• Draft press releases and pitches and other written materials that need no edits
• Draft trend story ideas for clients and writes strong pitches
• Send emails quickly and efficiently
• Supervise one to two direct reports, answer questions and edit work
• Leading presence on client-facing account interaction
• Lead client meetings ensuring meeting materials are prepared, available and organized, and ability to advise clients on the spot
• Supervise junior staff for media monitoring, and ensuring client clips are sent on time for digital and print press placements
• Organized and on top of the to-do list, meets and manages deadlines
• PR and social media ideas for Relevance New York (treating us like a client)
• Reads industry and consumer publications we pitch
• Keeps drive and all digital assets organized and neat

SKILLS/CORE COMPETENCIESREQUIRED/PREFERRED

• Commitment to increase knowledge of real estate, hospitality, luxury, and travel industries, dependent upon client focus
• Strong researcher and notetaker
• Creative mindset and ability to think outside the box
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
• Team player
• Solution-oriented
• Strong working knowledge of AP Style
• Self-directed, proactive, and independently capable of managing workload so deadlines are met
• Flexible, able to work under pressure and changing priorities
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Asana, Cision, and Google Programs
• Commits to 5 days per week and hours sufficient to cover responsibilities to clients and team.
• Workday begins at 9 am Monday through Friday.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/PREFERRED

• Bachelor Degree – Public Relations, Communications or Related Degree

Salary: $80k-$90k, based on experience
